Hotchkiss Helps

At Hotchkiss, our values are more than just words — we strive to live them out. From the time Doug Hotchkiss established the agency in 1975, we have been driven to protect people — to help others when they are in need. Of course, we view our daily work as a part of that mission of providing protection in a world of unknowns, but we also contribute our time, effort and financial support to worthy causes and people in our community through Hotchkiss Helps, our charitable arm.

While serving others is woven into the fabric of our organization, so is having fun. We enjoy what we do, who we work with and we have fun thinking of ways to support those in need. As a part of Hotchkiss Helps, we have cooked and served thousands of meals at a yearly Thanksgiving lunch for the military, sorted and organized clothing donations, served meals to Harvey relief workers in Rockport, and raised funds for important causes like cancer research by throwing pies in colleagues’ faces or cracking eggs on our co-workers’ heads — all for a good cause, of course!

Along with local events throughout the year, we select one national organization to support agency-wide. This year, we’re linking arms with Unbound, a Texas-based nonprofit that activates local communities to fight human trafficking through prevention, professional training and survivor advocacy. In Texas alone, approximately 313,000 people are victims of sex trafficking, and 234,000 workers are victims of labor trafficking. It’s a harsh truth, but we’re determined to help Unbound this year.
